Therapy vs. Coaching:

Two Paths of Support

Therapy and coaching are two distinct yet complementary paths—each offering powerful support, depending on where you are in your journey.
Therapy is a healing space—a place to tend to old wounds, to gently unravel the threads of trauma, grief, or anxiety, and to restore a sense of safety and inner stability. It honors the past as it shapes the present, and creates space for integration, regulation, and deep emotional repair.

Coaching is a space of becoming—a forward-facing process for those who feel called to grow, shift, or step more fully into themselves. It is not about diagnosing or treating, but about listening to the quiet wisdom within and choosing the life that calls you.
While therapy asks, “What needs to be healed?”
Coaching asks, “What wants to emerge?”

Though the focus and structure of therapy and coaching differ, I often draw from the same well of tools in both—such as somatic experiencing, expressive arts, IFS, and mindfulness practices. In therapy, these tools help regulate the nervous system and process emotional pain. In coaching, they illuminate your strengths, clarify your path, and guide your next steps.

Each path is tailored to meet you where you are—with compassion, creativity, and care.

While I’m licensed to provide online therapy in North Carolina and South Carolina, I also welcome coaching clients from any location.
